Open Call «Swimming to ... (Thuringia)»
We’re calling all people in Thuringia to contribute their stories!
«Swimming to ... (Thuringia)» is a theatrical exploration and reflexion on the subject of Thuringia 100 years after its foundation. The evening consists of an improvised approach to Thuringia by an entirely unbiased Luxembourger as well as a self-examination originating from right within the federal state. It’s not so much about Thuringia’s cultural history or its daily politics but more about an unexpected subjective perspective on what defines Thuringia. It’s about stories by both bornand-bred Thuringians and those who arrived from elsewhere. What defines Thuringia? What makes Thuringia a home?
You can send your story via word- or pdf-file to the following email address: firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t hesitate to write in English, we will translate it.
We are looking for adolescents and adults of any age who are interested in the topics which are raised in the project »Gang nach Buchenwald« (Walk to Buchenwald).Starting from 7 July the participants come together in regular meetings and deal with the history of Buchenwald and its meaning in today’s world as well as with the holocaust and the »question of guilt«.
Workshop »Weimar macht auf!« (Weimar opens up!): Residents of the old town of Weimar are called to participate with creative contributions in »Weimar macht auf!«. To exchange inspiration and meet the others, weekly meetings starting on 8 July take place. At these meetings coaching is offered and different possibilities of theatre and performance can be tested (depending on the situation with the coronavirus it may start digitally).
